Honoring the spirit of community and the people we proudly serve

Jacksboro, Texas (Nov. 19, 2025) — As Thanksgiving traditions begin across Jack County and the surrounding areas, Faith Community Health System (FCHS) is taking a moment to reflect on what truly defines this season: gratitude, connection, and the strength of a community that looks after its own. With sincere appreciation, FCHS offers thanks to the individuals and families who trust its team to provide care year after year.

“Thanksgiving reminds us of something essential in healthcare: people need more than treatment, they need a community that supports them,” said Frank L. Beaman, CEO at Faith Community Health System. “We are incredibly grateful for the trust placed in us—from emergency care to everyday wellness. It is a privilege to serve the families of this remarkable region.”

For decades, FCHS has been part of the lives of ranching families, oil and gas workers, educators, small business owners, and generations who have built their futures in the region. From welcoming new babies to providing critical care during medical emergencies, the FCHS has stood beside residents in moments of joy, challenge, and transformation.

“Our nurses, medical providers, technicians, and support staff show up with unwavering commitment,” Beaman said. “They comfort families in some of their most difficult moments and celebrate with them in the best ones. Their service reflects the strong values that make rural Texas special.”

Thanksgiving often brings long days in the kitchen, busy travel schedules, and the excitement of gathering with loved ones. FCHS encourages residents to savor these traditions while also making space for well-being. Staying hydrated, enjoying a brief walk after meals, and allowing time for rest can help families remain energized and comfortable through the holiday weekend. Those managing chronic conditions or medications are encouraged to ensure needed prescriptions are filled ahead of time—particularly if traveling or hosting guests.

Beaman also emphasized the importance of emotional connection. “The holidays are joyful for many, but they can also be difficult for those who are grieving, struggling, or alone,” he said. “A phone call, a shared meal, or a simple invitation can mean more than we realize. No one should feel they have to walk through life’s challenges without support.”

Faith Community Health System extends heartfelt appreciation to its medical staff and team members who continue to provide care throughout the holiday. Emergency services remain available around the clock, ensuring that help is always close at hand when needed. “Our entire team deserves our gratitude,” Beaman said. “Their dedication protects the health and well-being of our community every single day.”

As residents look ahead toward a new year, this season offers an ideal moment to consider personal health goals, including scheduling annual wellness visits and recommended screenings. Primary care providers can assist patients with heart health conversations, diabetes risk assessments, immunization updates, and preventive care strategies that support long-term wellness.

“This community believes in taking care of one another,” Beaman said. “That is a value that has defined rural Texas for generations. We are honored to serve alongside our neighbors in building a healthier future.”

FCHS reminds patients and families that all four Faith Community Health System clinics — Alvord, Bowie, Graham, and Jacksboro — will be closed on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, and on Friday so that employees may spend the holiday with their families. Regular clinic hours will resume on Monday.

Faith Community Health System offers sincere gratitude to the people it serves. The strength of the health system is rooted in their trust, partnership, and resilience.

“On behalf of Faith Community Health System, I wish each of you a safe, warm, and meaningful Thanksgiving,” Beaman said. “Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives. Serving this community is not only our responsibility, it is our honor.”
