JACKSBORO, Texas (Nov. 18, 2025) – Faith Community Health System proudly welcomes Amy Cosgrove, MD, an experienced family medicine and obstetrics physician with more than 15 years of caring for patients across all stages of life. Dr. Cosgrove brings deep clinical leadership, a warm, relationship-centered approach, and a true passion for supporting families in rural communities.
Dr. Cosgrove is a proud mother of four and believes that healthcare must honor the personal nature of each patient’s journey. “Families in rural communities deserve compassionate, high-quality care close to home,” Dr. Cosgrove said. “I want patients to feel heard and supported. My goal is to create a space where individuals and families know they have a trusted medical partner by their side through every season of life.”
Her academic journey began at Baylor University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biology and a minor in French. She went on to attend Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for medical school and completed her Family Medicine residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. It was during her training that she discovered her love for women’s health, obstetrics, and the unique role physicians play in smaller communities where relationships grow across generations.
Dr. Cosgrove has practiced in a range of clinical environments across Texas, including full-spectrum family care, obstetrics, emergency medicine, and clinical leadership roles. Her experience spans both inpatient and outpatient settings, giving her a comprehensive perspective on patient needs and continuity of care. Throughout her career, she has been known for her calm presence, steady support during life’s most important moments, and unwavering respect for the patients and families who trust her with their care.
“Being present when a new life enters the world, then caring for that child as they grow and supporting the family along the way is a privilege that never loses meaning,” she said. “That continuity is at the heart of family medicine, and it is especially powerful in rural communities.”
Dr. Cosgrove takes a comprehensive approach to family wellness and believes preventive care is one of the most valuable investments patients can make for their future. From routine check-ups and screenings to managing chronic conditions and supporting healthy pregnancies, she views each visit as an opportunity to build trust, empower individuals, and encourage long-term health. “Patients do best when they feel comfortable asking questions and when they know their physician sees them as a whole person, not just a chart or diagnosis,” she noted.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Cosgrove enjoys time with her children, exploring local parks and school activities, attending church events, and participating in community gatherings. She values the tight-knit nature of small-town life, where neighbors look out for one another and families build lasting roots. “There is something special about walking into a grocery store, a school event, or a local restaurant and seeing familiar faces who genuinely care about one another,” she added. “This is the kind of community where I want to raise my family and build a long-term practice.”
Frank L. Beaman, CEO, said Dr. Cosgrove embodies the mission and values that define Faith Community Health System. “Dr. Cosgrove brings exceptional experience and an authentic commitment to families,” Beaman said. “Her approach to care reflects exactly what rural communities need: skill, compassion, and a true desire to build lasting relationships. We are fortunate to welcome her to our health system and community.”
Beaman also emphasized the importance of having skilled family medicine providers who choose rural practice intentionally. “Rural healthcare is about trust. It is about neighbors caring for neighbors and providers who stay with families through the milestones, challenges, and celebrations of life. Dr. Cosgrove represents the best of that tradition.”
Dr. Cosgrove will see patients in Jacksboro on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and in Bowie on Thursdays, offering comprehensive family medicine services including women’s health, obstetrics, newborn care, chronic disease management, wellness visits, and same-day sick visits. Her arrival supports FCHS’ continued commitment to expanding access to patient-centered, relationship-based healthcare close to home.
“I am grateful for the warm welcome I’ve received,” Dr. Cosgrove said. “My hope is that families feel comfortable reaching out, asking questions, and knowing that their health truly matters. This is where I want to be, and these are the patients I want to serve.”
